My stupid Doctor Who confession

Yes, I use the word stupid, because these are fictional characters, and I really shouldn't care about them this much. But just to put this out in the open, it feels like everyone in this fandom ships 10/Rose and I don't. It makes me feel like I must be blind, or have no heart, but I really don't see anything romantic between them besides the two Bad Wolf Bay scenes.

It's almost like Rose is seen as a pillar of humanity everyone else except me. The ironic thing is, I used to feel this way about not liking Doctor Who, but now that I do, I feel like the freak of the fandom or something.

Yes, it's stupid, but I've really been racking my brain lately over this. I'm a nerd, but I hope that you other nerds can help assuage my ridiculous feelings of self-doubt. sweatdrop

I don't mind Doctor/Rose myself, but it's not by any means my OTP, and the squeeing fangirls it attracts piss me off. It's just a matter of taste.

You're perfectly fine. I don't particularly ship Doctor/ANYONE, because how epic/wise/enigmatic alien can the Doctor come off if he's nesting with a human, any human, or even another alien! Romance makes things less incomprehensible. So it can just bugger off as far as I'm concerned, as far as Doctor Who is concerned anyway. If you need a dose, stick in some flirtatious. That always seems to work.

Also, I always like his companions a lot more when they are gone. ^^

The fangirls are always the loudest, so I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't ship them, and there's something I'm missing. I always saw 10 and Rose as very close friends. I don't see the "epic romance" between them. sweatdrop

I don't mind the Doctor/Rose... But if anything, I am more for 10th/ Rose. All-in-all though, I'm not picky about pairings with the Doctor, but I feel it's beautiful that people can love the Doctor when it's so very complicated too.

To be honest, I ship mostly 11th/River. That, right there, is perfect. They actually do have more chemistry and it's adorable.

And no, I don't dislike Rose because of River, or anyone else. Like I said, it's only natural that the Doctor would fall in love more than once. I just don't see it with The Doctor and Rose. The Doctor and River, on the other hand...their whole story is just so deep, and 11 and River are just made for each other, if you ask me. <3

I've recently finished plowing my way through the entire "new Who" series, and out of The Doctor's four "leading ladies", Martha is definitely my favorite. I don't love Donna, but I don't hate her either. She's...okay in my book, but I can definitely see why everyone loves her. On the other hand, there are some things I like about Rose, but I fail to see why everyone is so in love with her.

After them comes Rose, then Amy. I really don't like Amy. Of course, I love River to pieces...she's my favorite female companion. From what I've seen of the "old school" companions, Zoe and Sarah Jane are my favorites so far. What about you?

Doctor/Tardis is my OTP for him. And I will love Neil Gaiman forever for making it a thing. (well, I'll love him forever anyway, but you know ~)
I never really got the appeal of Rose/Doctor. I guess I just don't particularly like Rose fullstop. But hey, I don't mind of people ship it, more power to them.

I believe the Doctor loves all of his companions... in different ways. Romantically, as friends, as family... I will admit that Ten loved Rose romantically, however that doesn't make any other ships null and void. Eleven loves River, and, even though I ship it, it doesn't mean others have to.

Overall, my favorite relationship in the whole near fifty years would have to be the father/daughter relationship between Seven and Ace. I'm done with this whole speech now.
