It's hard to get gender-neutral items for a fruit contest when the majority of the entrants are female. rofl
I tried though, I don't really like wearing dresses so why create one? I made boots, ties and a mecha fruit top. 1 2 3

On #5, is that a reference to a rambutan?
I saw one of those inspiration threads and thought it would look really cool to design an item after that. The hat, item #5 I believe, reminded me of it.
Is that a jackfruit reference for 7?
If so, I think you did an awesome job at not using well known or more common fruits like strawberries, bananas, oranges, etc.
That was one of the things I wanted to see out of this contest.

Those brightly coloured boots look awesome - and I know a lot of people who would certainly like something like that.

Well, just do what you'd wear yourself minus skirts. If you wouldn't make a dress, then what would you do?
Most guys want the same stuff girls but without skirts and frills. A lot of female avatars are dressed in outfits that would look just as good on guys since girls wearing pants looks more normal than a guy wearing a skirt (kilts and skilled crossdressers excepted)

My friend and I had a talk about the items here in Gaia. Here's some that we've discussed.

Males:
Start of with 500k.
Few options to pick from to make an avi. From the few items available, you can probably get only a thing or two decent looking items because usually these items costs at least 150-300k.

Females:
Start of with 500k.
Tons of variety of dresses and other name-it-all girl items. Usually costs 50-100k per decent looking items.

Man, we are really in need for more male-based items.
