A Tear was shed.

A MANLY TEAR.

You will not laugh at us, because we have a disability.
We are still the same. One way or another.

I am Deaf. And I Do not care for your words.

Lyrics
I'm that little boy with glasses,
the one they call a geek
the little girl who never smiles,
'cause I got braces on my teeth
And I know how it feels to cry myself to sleep

I'm that kid on the playground
who's always chosen last
A single teenage mother,
trying to over come my past,
You don't have to be my friend, if it's too much to ask.

Don't laugh at me
Don't call me names
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes were all the same
someday we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me

I'm a cripple on the corner,
You pass me on the street.
I wouldn't be out here beggin'
If I had enough to eat
You don't think i don't notice
That our eyes never meet.

I lost my wife and little boy
Somewhere 'cross that yellow line
The day we laid them in the ground
Is the day i lost my mind
Right now I'm down to lovin'
This little cardboard sign

So, Don't laugh at me
Don't call me names
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes were all the same
someday we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me

I'm fat, I'm thin, I'm short, I'm tall,
I'm deaf, I'm blind Hey aren't we all?

Don't laugh at me
Don't call me names
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes were all the same
someday we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me

This was one of my elementary gym coach's favourite songs. He frequently blasted it off of his stereo system while we played. He died of cancer when I was in fifth grade so this song always kind of depresses me. Still, it really is a great song. Powerfully written. biggrin
That is such an amazing song. Beautiful message. heart

Thank you.

So because you are deaf, you haven't even heard this song? It must mean much more to you than anyone could ever imagine.

The song gets me through the hard times for I am bullied and judged for just trying to be. I relate to it all to well.
