Welcome to Gaia! ::

I mean seriously, all I hear on the radio is pop from country stations. I have to listen to my cd's in order to get good country music. its slightly upsetting.

Some of it yes id agree with you on that. Things like gloriana and Taylor sift are killing off country though i do like a few of there songs. The rest is just sticking to its roots i think with a lightly differnt beat. Its evolveing but keeping traditional in a way
Music is basically a popularity contest, and pop is more popular than country, so the artists like taylor swift are making it so that they can win the contest...if that makes sense....its really early right now
i think its soooo wrong. i love country music and i was raised that way. they are puttin pop in country..... not cool people
There's nothing wrong or new about pop country. It would be nice if radio stations played other things but you know, I gave up on most radio a long time ago.

I totally agree with you. That music is nice to listen to sometimes, but CD's do guarantee that we can hear quality country music.
I was raised on country music and have recently moved to rock and pop, but I still see what your saying. Artists like Taylor Swift took their influence from country but perform it as pop (I did get her first album, and it was more of the newer country, the second just sucks). But there's still good country out there! You just have to sit through 5 or 6 Taylor Swift songs to get to it!
The only true country greats still living are Willie Nelson, George Jones, Merle Haggard, George Straight, and Alan Jackson. Most of today's "country" musicians don't seem to want to keep the true style alive. Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, LeAnne Womack and those who got big around the same time still have the obvious roots in true pure country, but the more time passes, the less we see of that.

well every genre of music is intertwining with eachother, but of anything that ive noticed countrys become more rock or metal than anything because every new song that comes out the musicians forgot how to play the acoustic and replace it with an eletric guitar dramallama which isnt all that bad if they do it right
i must admit. country has become more like pop. it's probably because of Taylor Swift. who knows..
