What's the worst thing that has happened to you?

It probably isn't that bad but it hurt alotttttt..
I was dying a sweater for a Sion cosplay and as I was stirring the spoon slipped and a whole bunch of scolding hot dye went all over me. Now my T-Shirt is ruined and I hurt. orz

Mine has mostly been the fact that the family member who helps me with these things has no sense of time. It's happened twice, once for Halloween and once for a con. The costumes did not get done until the actual day I needed them. I just remember being so frustrated because they were very late nights and there was the paranoia of what if something didn't end up right - there'd be no time to fix it... Things worked out in the end, but it was still frustrating nonetheless.

Mine would be prop making. I'll go to paint something and the moment I get everything ready that's when people choose to ask me to do something when it's clear I just set out some fresh paint.
Reposting since I posted in the wrong thread. XD

The worst thing that has happened to me was my sewing machine becoming unusable the night before I was going to leave for the convention. I didn't have a lot of time to make my costume prior to that because my horrid job left me physically exhausted whenever I got home so there wasn't much I could do. The convention was in California and I lived in Nevada so no way was anything going to get done. It turned out to be the worst Anime Expo I had anyway--so boring. xd
spend literally days carving up the details for armor chestplate for a cos

and smart one uses spray paint on it.
eats clean through the foam

I have a bad habit of pinning needles to myself or things around me when I'm sewing and sometimes they tend to fall and get lost. Happened once again to me one time, but I found it quickly later - when I sat down.

Another would have to be working on a cosplay the night (and early morning) of a convention...
Later that afternoon I fell asleep in a patch of grass outside the convention. >.>
It's not painful physically . But it was very annoying to the point of I wanted to just flip a table over. Pretty much I kept getting the sizing wrong for my shoulder piece and I had to keep remaking it. I make it in pepakura so it's fairly cheap to do over. But it's very annoying to keep doing something over and over and over again and not getting any closer. I had to redo my bloody shoulders six times and I still haven't gotten them figured out.

Once I was trying to sew a tight-like shirt, and the worst way I found out that I made it too small, is when it ripped ._.
I spent probably 3 hours on that friggin shirt DX
I'm working on a metric ******** of Warcraft costumes this year, Jaina Proudmoore was my most difficult that required a sewing machine, no incident, turning out fine, machine pulled through. Then I go to work on Taretha Foxton, a minor backstory character with a major roll in the overall storyline, but nonetheless a peasant girl with a simple costume. I broke my last two needles on the cincher I was making because like an idiot I decided now was the time to learn to make a steel boned cincher or corset. It put me out of commission for two days while I waited to be able to get to the fabric store to pick up more 16 needles.

Oh sweet jesus e n e I hateeee loosing pins.. I spazz out when I do. I'm afraid I'll step on them or my cat will eat them.

I've never fallen asleep at a convention D;
You must've been exausted ; o;
UGH. Well so far nothing really bad has happened but then again I haven't really been cosplaying and sewing for that long, just started last year.

But I just know that there are going to be problems in the future with the cosplays I want to do.

Well I did get the wrong material once but someone pointed it out to me. HEH. sweatdrop

Worst thing that's happened to me recently... I had a pair of pants that were perfect for my Horo costume (Spice and Wolf), but they were the wrong colour. Since they were 100% cotton, I went ahead and dyed them, finished up sewing the rest of the details on, and packed them up for con. The morning I was scheduled to wear that costume, I took the pants out of the hotel closet, and discovered that I could no longer put them on... cat_xp Despite being pre-shrunk cotton, dying them on the stove had shrunk them down enough that I could no longer zip them up, which meant.... No costume for me that day! I was so bummed, I didn't even want to re-wear one of my other costumes from that weekend.. Horo is one of my favorites, and now the costume is officially out of comission until I find/make new pants cat_crying

Thanks cat_sweatdrop I felt really stupid for not trying them on at home before packing them, but oh well.. I may just use it as an excuse to go ahead and make one of her other costumes finally... cat_wink
