So, I really wanna be Peruru at a convention. What's keeping me from doing it though, is the problem I'm having with figuring out how his shirt is made. o-O You see, it's got a see-through part, that moves to a short tank top to a long shirt. D: It's so confusing. I'm going to post a few pictures to see if anyone can help me.

With the pattern and the kind of fabric that I should use for the see-through parts.

And also, now that I look at the pictures, his pants are sort of see-through! D: I don't wanna walk around with see-through pants. So, my question for this, is should I just make the bottom 'ruffle' see-through and the rest of the pants opaque?

Thank you everyone for the help!

Can anyone help me?
Ok, here's what I'm thinking.

It seems as though there is a solid shirt underneath, with no sleeves and a very low neckline (because you can't see any neckline through the clear part on the tank-toppy thing). Soooo, get a shirt with a flowy bottom, chop of any sleeves it might have and then lower the neckline if you have to.

Then it seems like the tank-toppy thing could be made from a regular white tank top, with sheer sleeves attached. I think you could find a sheer fabric to make some sleeves with, and then you can just sew them onto the tank top. Either that, or you can find a long sleeved shirt with sheer sleeves - then you can just cut the sleeves from it and sew them to the tank.

Now I'm looking at the ruffly collar part. Obviously the ruffly collar part is part of the sheer sleeves. I'm thinking use whatever sheer fabric you use for the sleeves, and just sew a chunk of it to the neckline of the tank. To get the ruffly effect, you can sew some floral wire to it, which will give you the ability to bend it like you want.

The solid strip in the middle of the sleeves can just be solid white ribbon, sewn into place. And we all know you can find pom poms at the arts and crafts store.

That is by far the most complicated shirt I've seen in a while. Hope my advice made sense...lol

It's been about a month, but I'm still in need of some help.

I just kind of.. well, forgot about this thread with all that's going on in my life.

Okay, sorry for the horrible artistic quality, but incase it wasn't completely obvious, I think you will most definitely be needing to make a 2-piece shirt.

The undershirt should not be see-through at all and on the little jacket piece the neck ruffles and the sleeves should be the only thing sheer.

Also, unless you can find a fabric that somehow magically goes from opaque to sheer as it goes down, you will probably want a non see-through fabric for the pants so your giddy fans aren't seeing a little more Peruru than is normally allowed at a con anyway.

I hope that helped. Did you have any other questions about the outfit?

I can't think of anything else at the moment. But thank you for the help.
