UB, or another one? I've got a friend that's finishing up his degree at UB, and he says their anime club is pretty cool. The group of them went to Anime Boston and OhayoCon (I got invited to come along for OhayoCon, but redonk early commitment deadline made me back out) this last year. c:

The worst part about not having cosplay buddies really close by is there's no one riding my a** to get stuff done. xD I lived with one of the group members, and two more lived about a mile away (though in opposite directions), so we were always motivating each other.

I know right? It's been taking me months do complete Xaldin's lance! And all I'm using is cardboard, an old broomstick, and paint! And I need to get more pictures done and learn how to do better make-up. His sideburns are the worse. XP The ones I bought aren't good enough.

And I want to get on Youtube for good cosplaying. XD

I'm like 90% done with Tifa, but no motivation for the last few things. >< At least there's still more than a month until the con, and I have all the materials. It's just a matter of getting my sewing stuff out and putting it all together.

xDD I don't mind not being recognized as a 'good' cosplayer, just so long as I don't end up getting bashed for being 'bad'.

Augh, my attention span is so fail. xD

Awesome. c: Death Note always seems like one of those ones that's hard to pull off, because most of the characters are fairly realistic-looking. I'd never be able to do it because if I got one thing less than perfect I'd be flipping out. xDD I keep to the more fantastical stuff that allows some error.

You should try watching some Let's Play of it - that's how I manage to watch most video games that I don't have a chance to play. Sometimes just watching a walkthrough is too boring, but the commentary can really bring it up. I suggest Derangedband for anything but REmake (that was his first, and it shows, but all the rest of his RE LPs are awesome), and katrinonus for REmake.

Currently I'm watching Derangedband's FFVII LP, and it's really good - he does a good job of explaining what's going on without spoilers, and also doesn't bore you with some parts, even though he's going for 100% completion. Like, with the Chocobo breeding for Gold Chocobo, he skips a lot of the racing and stuff and only shows the highlights, a lot better than the last time I tried to watch a FFVII playthrough (can't remember who it was by, but she was doing 100% competition and showed EVERYTHING - which made the sidequests REALLY boring).

Have you watched TeamFourStar's commentary while playing L4D and a few other games? They don't talk about the game, but their conversations are still hilarious. wink
