Help to make a cosplay?

Okay, in July, two of my friends and I are going to Omnicon. I'm going to cosplay as Len Kagamine from Vocaloid but need major help!


I have until July but I need help with:

Materials
Patterns
Headphones
How to style MY HAIR like Len/ good place in McAllen TX to buy anime wigs



I'd rather style my hair than buy a wig. My hair really does look alot like my gaian except with bangs on the side of my face and naturally has ringlets.

If you can, (although not necesary) if you know how to make a Kaito (Vocaloid) Cosplay, that would be awesome (My friend is going as him).

Would you mind posting a picture of your hair so I know how to explain it?

as for materials, just stay away from shiny fabrics. I used alot of cotton because conventions get really hot, and cotton is a very light weight fabric and it is also very comfortable.

as for patterns... thats very easy really. Just go to your nearest fabric store and look through the SIMPLICITY pattern book. (I say Simplicity because they are the best patterns. They are cheap and easy to use.) If you need help finding a specific pattern though, let me know and I would be happy to help.

The head phones are really easy to make. Just get a head band that is the color of the head phones, and then get foam the same color and construct it from there! thats how I made mine! (my miku ones anyways. )


Thouse arent mine, but thats basically what I did to make mine. I also got piping and covered it with duct tape and made the microphone part out of it. (I will post a picture later if you want to see it as a better reference picture, since mine came out MUCH better then this one.)


As for the Kaito cosplay, get the Simplicity Matrix coat pattern for it, thats what I used for my ex-boy friends kaito jacket and it came out WONDERFUL.

I don't have any patterns but for the sleeves I have this.
Its a step by step tutorial thing. I skipped around so I hope it works. I plan on cosplaying as Len next year and it loos pretty helpful : )

Is not that hard to cosplay vocaloid, for the earphones, just google or search on youtube and deviantart for tutorials. Well you can use your real hair for cosplay if you want too...for styling hair or wig, use lotsa of wax and hairsprays. Hopes this helps...gambatte kudasai! xp
