I can't remember if I posted it on the thread, but a while ago Expo Mascot got a PM from a developer asking whether it was an offical mascot or not, So I'd kinda guessed that Gaia was at least thinking about coming to Expo, thought it would have been sooner though.

Maps out on the day pretty much, If I remember they MAY put it up a couple of days before but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I kinda agree with Rachie, there's likely to be many Death Note cosplayers here. There usually are in the first place! But wear Misa anyway, I love the variety of different Misas! ^_^

Yeah I know what you mean Ga'h though I don't like it when ppl wear the school outfit. Not that there a bad cosplayer just that I think the school outfit is ugly like you knwo not the cosplayer just the outfit smile . I love seeing people dress up as Misa in lolita type stuff.

Yeah I know but it's annoying when they only do it to try and impress the vocie actor not knowing that he has seen it all before. Plus I feel it kinda ruins the feel of the chraracter when you see it so many times. But yeah if u wanna do it go ahead i'm not gonna judge ya for it. Not my choice what u do you go for it and have fun smile

I don't see a problem with people all doing the same character. Although if you want recognition as a good cosplayer you either need to do something really wacky or be increadibly good at whatever main stream character you've decided to try. I guess it depends if you just want to have fun or if you want pictures taken of you etc.

There were loads of Misas in Sept, even a crossdressing one (Which was hilarious, I admire their guts).

I don't mind how many of the characters there are. I think it's a shame when someone gets put off coz they're popular cosplayed characters. (I've done that myself with Ed Elric, but I'm gonna do it anyway one day with an armoured alphonse hopefully and a Mustang).

It's kinda boring cosplaying an unknown, as you get little recognition-that happened with my first two expos.

Fianlly I've been able to start on our costumes! Got the material yesterday so I was making the crowns and chest plates last night. Starting on Zagato today so I'll hopefully have him done by Thursday. (So glad I only have 7 hours of lectures a week!)

Staying on topic with the current discussion, I dread to think of how many Death Note cosplayers there are going to be this time because of Brad. ><
Honestly, I've got no issues with lots of people doing the same costume it doesn't matter if lots of people are also doing it if that's the character you really want to do. I started off with doing Aerith because it was someone I had my heart set on doing.
Though with someone like Misa it does get a little disapointing to just see people wearing lolita and claiming to be her instead of one of her actual outfits all the time just because it's easier to do.

I love doing costumes that are rarely or never done, you still get recognised (mainly for me by the older fans because of the characters I do) and it feels great to do something you know is a first within the UK.
I've got to admit I dislike doing "over-done" cosplays now myself because I really like to challenge myself in terms of detail and design plus there's really no characters that I can say I'd really like to do appart from Sakura Kinomoto.

I like Death Note cosplays, but they're not very interesting and seem like .. too easy ><

I like to do characters that aren't often done, but still get recognised
Or variations of the character that no one ever does

I have a load of people looking forward to Crowned Clown Allen Walker because it hasn't been done to expo before (there was meant to be one in may .. but I don't think they came ^^; )

I'm gonna do black jacket ed elric since the red jacket is overdone. Plus, I ruined the black jacket and did the non-red one accidentally. xD

I'm not a great Death Note fan anyway. I hate nearly all of the characters. Matt's alright since he didn't do anything wrong. Mello used bad methods and Near's just a pain in the arse. L was ok, but he was just annoying at times. Light's plain evil and Misa shoulda stayed away from Light. XD Sorry. xD
