Ben Nye Theatrical make up

Trust me, Ive worked in stage for over 10 years, Ive put on Beautie and the beast, Ive put on Cats, Ive done Nightmare before Chrismas.

You want Ben Nye Theatrical Make up, it doesnt smudge, turn oily or rub off until you want it too. And its not unreasonable priced.

and its certainly much cheaper then MAC make up
I'll keep it in mind! biggrin
Where could I get it?
Maybe watching this could help you out? =3

Omg. That video is GREAT.
Perhaps I should put it in the first post.

Though, I don't know where to pick up those makeups she uses. o___o; Anyone know?
Alright, I'm gonna try to tackle some of your questions. (I'm also subscribing to the thread! :3 )

For foundation: I recommend, my little secret, the Dior Icone Photo Perfect Creme-To-Powder foundation. It's a bit pricey at $42, but it's SO absolutely awesome for taking pictures. The foundation's pretty heavy (meaning it covers up blemishes quite well) by itself, also, which is a plus! Also, just a little bit of the foundation goes a lonnngg way. I blend it with my fingers, but sometimes use a wedge sponge to blend. It doesn't come in a huge amount of colours, though, but they have a translucent colour that you could just put on over a different foundation (if none of the foundation colours matches your skintone).

Primer's
what you put on before make-up (foundation, eyeshadow, etc.), but after skincare (moistrizers, spf, etc.). Good primers keep make-up from running. All skin types should be able to use it. A really fantastic eyeshadow primer is Urban Decay's Primer Potion. It helps keep the eyeshadow in place and not get that crease-line (after a long day)! I heard that MAC's Prep + Prime is good for all-over-face, but I've never used it so I can't say for sure.

For concealer, I use a MAC tube one, but there's probably better out there. Here's a good tutorial for concealer. The tutorial also teaches you which colours neutralizes other colours, for getting an even-toned face smile

I'm not sure about products that help seal everything together, but I use the Mineral Veil from Bare Escentuals to kinda "seal" everything together (that's what it was advertised for..not sure how WELL it works though...). It also gives a more matte (non-shiny) look. If you want something else that helps keep things looking non-shiny, choose products that have the word "matte" in it. ( **Except for in eyeshadows! If you want a glimmery, more 3 dimensional look in eyes, don't go for matte colours razz )

You should also go with that previous suggestion of getting someone from a makeup counter place to do your makeup. Keep in mind that it's not for "free"- you should purchase atleast some of the makeup that was used on you (if I remember correctly, $60 worth of makeup is the courtesy, or something, for getting someone at MAC to do your makeup... I'm not sure tho)

Here's a silly pic of me with the Dior Icone foundation (and insane makeup) on! You can still see some the blemish bumps on the right side of my face (left in the picture)- but in reality, they were SO much more worse without the makeup! I also had some blemishes on the left side of my face, but you can't even see it with the foundation on! No photoshop at ALL in this picture, other than me stamping the pic with my screenname and bordering it (just in case if someone wants to steal it D: )

I hope I helped you some :3
Why, thank you!

Know what stores sell these things?

Uh, do you have Sephora where you live? Their foundation is expensive, but if get the palest one, it makes a really clean slate for your face, then you can do whatever you need for your cosplay.
Behindinfinity..hm, I'm friends with China Capay, who did Misa of their Deathnote, Rukia of thier Bleach, and some others. I'd love to ask her what foundation she uses, but she's on hiatus right now.
Oh, get some concealer, just in case. Great way to top up quickly.

I've never heard of it, but I can do some snooping around in department stores at our mall. There's where all the expensive places have their booths.

And if you can talk to her, that would be FANTASTIC. (for whenever she gets back!)

Bought concealer. Might get a second one. 3nodding

Unless you're really pale, that's not a very smart thing to do unless you put makeup ALL OVER your body. Foundation is supposed to make your face look more even toned- but your skin doesn't stop just at the face. You don't want to end up having your neck and body a complete different shade from your face. (SPF also gives off a white-ish, off-tone, look to the face, so try to avoid products with SPF for photo-taking)
The best way to match your foundation colour is to try a bit along your jawline to your neck area. If the foundation blends in well with your skintone, you should get it smile

The links that I linked were all pretty much Sephora links- they sell ALOT of different brands there. I'm pretty sure there's Sephoras in Florida? They have Sephoras all over the world, so I wouldn't doubt there would be some in Florida. You could also try MAC- they usually have MAC counters in department stores in the mall.
I know where there's a MAC around here. 3nodding Not sure bout there being a Sephora around here though.
