Welcome to Gaia! ::

Alright, so I'm heading to a convention next month, and am going to start looking for some decent makeup. Not so much for my eyes, I think I have a good idea for that. But about for the rest of my face, like for covering up blemishes, redness, etc.

Looking at BehindInfinity's Cosplay Photography Guide, I really like the idea of flattening up the face, and covering features. And also, that is some sweet concealer that they use.

So I'd like to know if anyone has suggestion for this. Brands, etc.

Also, what to use to keep it on in the first place, so it doesn't get all runny onto our costumes or something at the convention. razz

So basically, what do you recommend?:

What should be used as some sort of foundation?
Do I NEED primer? Is that for super dry skin?
What are some good concealers?
What about something to protect everything? I'm in Florida, and we can't escape getting sweaty and gross.
What to use for anti shine?
Anything else.

In other words: WHAT IS EVERYTHING THAT IM GONNA NEED TO PUT ON MY FACE. D:
Thank you very much!

My tip is to go to the mall and get a free makeover, most places offer that, or they have very cheap ones. They will do your makeup, choosing colours and products that are best for your face type and stuff, and you can give them a general idea of what you want and they can do it for you. Then you know what products do what and how they look, and then buy what you want.
That's definitely an idea. Perhaps I'll head there tomorrow.
Nothing else from other people? o 3o
Mac foundation is my life.

Be sure to get the stick foundation and not the liquid one, as the stick has more colours available, and flattens the face more, and overall provides a nicer 'canvass' on which to add your blushes, eye, and lip colours.

It's well worth the price.
Ah, Mac. My sister looovvees their eyeshadow and stuff. I'll definitely look into it.
I just use Mousse. Covers up redness perfectly and removes shinyness from my face. razz

o_o I've never heard of that!
Does it feel greasy or anything throughout the day?
If you have blemishes, Almay makes a concealer with Salycilic (sp?) acid, which helps to dry them out.

I personally use CoverGirl concealer and MAC Fix foundation/powder combo.

Nope, it feels dry and natural. I was surprised when I first tried it too ^^
K, so I got samples of the Mac foundation, and bought the Maybelline Matte Mousse. =) I'll give them a try through the next few days.

I'm still taking suggestions!
They didn't have the Mac stick there, by the way! They used some other cream on me.
There is a Wig website http://www.amphigory.com/ They also sell make-up and while I haven't used any of theirs my friends swear by it and they have won cosplay contests so I tend to take their words for those kinds of tips.
Really? Which stuff on there is it?
