Yeah, so guess whose considering backing out from cosplaying Nepeta Leijon from Homestuck?

I cannot get the makeup right, and I just can't afford the fancy stuff
plus I found out I'll be cosplaying her alone, because my friend who was supposed to cosplay Gamzee(And I pretty much paid for almost everything for that cosplay) decided she only wants to cosplay him one day
and to be honest I'm seriously afraid that I will just friggin suck and all the other Nepeta's will be totally BOSS.

And so what if your not the best? Take pride in your work girly! You've been working hard on your costume! Nothing to be ashamed of.
Also, if your friend isn't doing it, do it yourself. CAUSE YOU ARE BADASS.
Don't worry about fancy things, just finish this cosplay and you will feel awesome. Cause you would have accomplished something that took a lot of time and effort.

I don't know you but, anyone who loves Sailor Moon is awesome in my book.

I think you shouldn't worry if your friend is doing it or not. I think your friend might change their mind once you get there and start having fun with it anyway. Especially if you still plan on doing it. If you wait for the perfect conditions you'll never do the costume, or any costume...I mean, if your make-up isn't working why not do some more research and see if there is anything you can add to it or do better that might make it work better? If it's the color or something, that can be open to interpretation. Can't tell you many different shades of green I've seen used for Miss Martian and the She-Hulk...

I'd say just go for it. biggrin you'll regret not doing it at all more than you'll kick yourself for not doing it better.

What makeup are you using, may I ask? Halloween store s**t usually does turn out looking pretty bad, in my experience. I always use Ben Nye, which is a bit pricier but not too bad.

But even if you can't get the makeup right, I say you should still do it! I've been to several Homestuck cosplay meetups, and they were all a lot of fun! I didn't see anyone criticizing or excluding people with less-than-perfect cosplays.

Yeah, maybe, ti's just disappointing that I would have to hope they change they're mind. I thought we were going to cosplay this together and then she suddenly backed out so it can be rather discouraging.

Yeah, well, sadly it is that cheap halloween makeup XDD
I knew the makeup wasn't going to turn out perfect but it actually just looks horrid.
I wasn't expecting to be THAT bad and you know I would be open to using Ben Nye but I just do not have the money for it.
I actually have her trench coat, and dyed it to a perfect shade, made her horns and also have a wig for it.
I tried making teeth but I have braces emotion_donotwant
In all, I've just become so frustrated by the project that I've considered going to the convention without any makeup but I just couldn't, I feel like it's too important.
