For the panel you could do a quiz show on things Gaia .
Like jeopardy or something.
The Sailor Moon Squares panel was super fun.

Oh yeah hopefully noone was offended by the way I was acting ( was one in blue kimono) I was just trying to get everyone to get together to take the picture ^_^; and it didn't seem like people were moving.

I changed what I was wearing last minute because my feet were killing me from dancing so long in high heels the night before and people kept stepping on the back of my dress , so that's why I was in my kimono.

I had actually been thinking of running a panel myself next year, but since you jumped the gun before me, you can have the only two ideas I'd come up for it so far:

A "cosplay your avatar" contest, and a "cosplay an NPC" contest. You'd have to figure out prizes if any, I really gotta be honest and say I'd highly doubt that Gaia will give you prizes or other things to hand out at a con they are not officially attending.

prizes sound good ^_^ i'm not sure if gaia would be willing to make donations at all. I might end up paying for those myself lol. Or maybe i could take small donations from other people. Lady Leopardess has some good ideas too about doing a quiz show, We just need a good list of questions and answers kinda like that sailor moon squares thing i went to, and elly and a few other people suggested cosplaying as your avi or a NPC contest. I think we should ask the panel programming staff if they think these ideas would hold up in a panel >.<.

and ones about gaia are alot more clear cut than some of the sailor moon ones could be .

Like what were the names of the two Von Helson sisters?
Who runs the bank?
Who grew the biggest mustache in the mini comic?

Well first your going to have to contact ACEN and get an okay or a maybe and then try one of the leading administrators of gaia. Talk to it's crator or such. Try and get ACEN and gaia talking as best you can and it should work out if both partys are willing to listen. <w<

It would probably be a little too soon to get a hold of Acen about a panel. I mean, yes, you could post about it, but I doubt you'll get much during the summer. I'd probably wait until at least Fall (Sept-Octoberish?) before setting something up over there. (Anyone here do a panel before? If so, when did applications open for that?)

I would probably try getting a hold of both Gaia's Public Relations team under the email [e-mail] and possibly contacting one of the mods for the Conventions thread as they might have had similar questions before or might have an idea of who to ask for the information.

And no, I don't expect Gaia would "donate" anything to a fan-panel. Especially as they have no way of knowing the legitimacy of such people and would have to be concerned with said people running away with what would be prizes/etc. However, it doesn't hurt to ask if they want any input on the panel. Acen is one of the top tier anime conventions after all and if anyone remembers how large the crowd was for the 1st official Gaia panel...

you're right we shall wait biggrin . this gives me plenty of time to gather content/ideas for the panel and money to buy the prizes.
