Welcome to Gaia! :: Painful Cosplay/Con Moments

At one con I was Zakuro from Tokyo Mew Mew and I was just waiting in line to register when I hear this guy start yelling "ZAKURO!" really loud.I turn around and this teenage boy is looking like he's about to tackle me to the floor with 5 cellphones.

My friends tell me to run to entertain the ppl who've been waiting in line FOREVER and I'm thinking the guy's gonna kill me, so I run for the girl's bathroom. Everything was closed for the 2 hours we'd been in line and so when I see a door to the Dealer's Room, naturally I stop.

But my boots - made out of extra cloth with no rubber soles for traction - slid from under me and I fell back anime-style and cracked my head on the ground. The guy caught me, took a few pix and was all, "Nice try!" and skipped off.

But this was around the corner and so no one saw it. >///< I had a bad headache the whole day.

So does anyone else have really painful memories of this type? One I've also heard was a Roy Mustang (FMA) fangirl glomped him so hard he fell and got a concussion. o.0

The only time I can think of is when I didn't break in my shoes at all and they had very thin padding, so halfway through my walk in the dealers room my feet were killing me.

Once I was cosplaying as Lita Kino from Sailor Moon and I am not the kind of person who wears girly shoes. These where weird feeling shoes to me. They also head a really narrow sole and not only that but it wasn't really my size so I put cotton in the front. So all together that made my feet all cramped and pushed the top back edge of the shoe against my angle so eventually it turned red so it was painful to walk. It wasn't too bad but I really hate being uncomfortable. domokun

Well It wasn't really my painful memory, but here goes..

It was Ax 2006 and My sister was dressed as Sasuke and I was dressed as Naruto. There was a really big long escalator and we were trying to get upstairs. the only problem was the escalator was broken and not moving at all. So me and my sister did the "Smart" thing and was running at full speed up the steps. And if you remember what the steps of an escalator looks like, they aren't very pretty and they have sharp thingys on them things on them. So while me and my sister were running up this seemingly endless escalator, She got tired and her shoe broke right underneath her, causing her to trip and her bare knee landing on the corner of the escalator step, it stabbing into her knee. it started bleeding a lot, but only for a short while. she almost passed out. ^^'
She still has the scar from it today.

Kumori Con 2006 I was dressed as Rouge the Pirate Queen from Final Fantasy: Legend of the Crystals and I was wearing 9" stripper heels with 4" platforms under the toes, with spats to turn them into thigh-boots.
Now, I'm a guy. I've never worn any heels of any height before in my life. I made it to the Final Fantasy photoshoot with the rest of my LotC group only falling twice and I caught myself. But on the way back up to the room my ankles decided they had enough and totally gave out. However I was taped into the shoes with electrical tape, and I couldn't remove them without help (and much flashing). I had to be fireman-carried back to the room and my ankles were sore for two weeks.
It was awesome though.



BTW - if anyone has any pictures, I'd love if you would share. I didn't get any with my camera and none of my friends did either.

When I cosplayed as hide, I had to bind my chest. This was basically the first time I've ever had to do that for a costume, within 2 hours I was in a lot of pain. I had to keep undoing and redoing the binding. After comming home from AX I learned that I must have been doing something wrong, but I dont know what XD oh well, it was worth it, I ♥ my hide cosplay....and hide of course XD
