Welcome to our Otakon thread~!
Every year, Otakon is held at the Baltimore Convention Center, in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Thousands and thousands of people from all over the country, and even all over the world come to our wonderful fan-run con each year, making it one of the largest cons in the US!
Each year, Otakon-goers all talk on this thread. It usually dies for a few months between cons, but about a month before the con, and until a month after the con, it gets very lively, with all of the pre-con and post-con excitement. We always re-use this con, and I hope that we always do! This thread holds tons of memories for us, and I hope that no one leaves this thread for another, newer Otakon thread! Why have another thread when this one is perfectly fine?!

Yes, we all love it. Otakon. Wonderful. :3 Otakon 2006 was my first con, and I loved it. I cosplayed:

Otakon 07 will be my first con and my second time in the US. (last time was ten years ago.)
I can't wait to go, I'll be cosplaying as Rin Sohma and Tifa from Advent Children and my boys are going as Sephiroth and Kami from Fruits Basket. I'm also looking forward to meeting my friends who I've only been able to talk to online up until now!

Anyway, to pre-reg you have to wait until they announce it on the website, do it as fast as you can, because at certain dates it gets more exspensive. Also, do not whatever you do-send in a check! I'm in the UK. ^^ My friend who co owns Otaku Corner went last year and sent me some prezzies so I'm determined to go next year and get more autographs. It'll be my only chance for a few years too really. The year after I'll (hopefully) be in University so probably won't be able to go. I was going to go this year but my parents don't want me flying alone and my mum couldn't get insurance.

I am absolutely determined to go next year! Even if I have to go alone! (Though my friends over there have said they'll look after me. All of them are at least two years older than me so I'll be the youngest.)
Whats even better though, is that the exchange rate will be on my side! (Oh how I love buying things in dollars.)

I'm 18 but I completely lack any sense of direction. (My mum said I'll probably get lost trying to find my plane...that or get distracted by the duty free. *Its probably true too* >< wink
I'll be pretty easy to spot, I'll be carring around a two foot Sephiroth and dressed as Tifa or Kami from Fruits Basket and dressed as Rin. (And of course be one of the few people with an English accent.)

If I meet any people who know me from OC I'll probably be swamped by Fruits Basket fans too. ><

We'll definitely have to try and find each other if I manage to go. I've tried to get my friends in the UK to come but sadly none of them can afford it, so I'll be meeting up with Kyoko, Lina and Otaku/Sakura over there.
