Awesome, but I think you might want to add a section about bootlegs. The link in my sig shows you how to identify them ^^

I'd advize against glomp signs. most people hate them.

0.o wow.... this was actually one of the best tutorials I've read about cons.... XD
One thing you may want to add in there....
talk about how much the expenses could be... a range ya know...

Somethin like...
Average cost of food per day - $10-50
Average amount of $ spent in dealer room - $100-300
Etc.....

Also!
I live in the asscrack of the US (arizona, with the grand canyon)
And well... there really aren't any cons close by... in driving range... maybe you should go a little into plane stuffs... or road trips... XD
Just a thought lol heart

I will still be around... Ive just finally given all of my things away....
And check out my website!
www.kaishineko.com (not everything on it is about Gaia, ladies and Gents... so be prepared!)

That kind of thing varies from person to person, and day to day. It depends on how much you budget for it. Some people like to eat well, so they pay the big bucks to eat well, while others don't care and don't pay as much. The same with road trips and plane trips. It varies from con to con, on where you can park, transportation and everything else, so there's really not a guideline I can make for that.

Great advice! I showed the link to two friends of mine who are going to their first convention soon....I just hope they remember it when they actually get there.

I thought I might add that you should walk around the whole dealers room before you buy something because you be able to find something you wanted for a less amount of money at a booth in the back than at the booth you saw when you first walked in. Also this way you might be able to get a good idea of what you really want and what you can live without. Thus not ending up blowing all your money on stuff you only half-heartedly wanted only to see something you absolutely wanted but can't get because you already spent all your money.

Also because you leave for the con MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED. If it be costume parts or medicines. Use a CHECKLIST if you have to. You don't want to get to the con only to find out that you forgot something. Once a friend of mine forgot her medicine but only realized it once we got to our hotel rooms. So we had to get back in car go back to her house which is two hours away then drive back. So we ended up spend six hours on the road and pretty much wasted a half of to a whole con.

Well I hope those tips are helpful.

does anyone know how to get moeny faster?

KumoriCon is like, next weekend in Portland, if that's what you're looking for. Anipike has a convention listings page that's very helpful.

As for the Naruto head protector, you can wear it. I've seen many people wearing just part of a costume at a time, and as far as I know, it's never been a problem. You won't get as many pictures as if you were in full costume, but you might still get some.

Thank you for linking my old thread about molestation to here, but I discontinued it long ago. White Joker (the mod) thought it made it seem like cons always have molesters and rapists hanging around.

I tried making a thread like this called "common sense at cons," in the hopes that it would become a sticky, but it never happened. sweatdrop Well, I'm not nearly as experienced as you, having been to merely a single con, hence my lack of success in the aforementioned threads.

Thanks for wisening up the general Gaian public. We love you for it.
