Welcome to Gaia's forums, where millions of members gather to discuss random stuff, make new friends,

Pretty good! 3nodding There's another con-newb FAQ floating around somewhere too, but I don't know how active it is (I don't usually go to the Conventions subforum.)

Just out of curiosity, about the bought costume rule, is it OK if you bought a part of the costume, such as a wig, but still made most of it?

I haven't been to any cons yet, but would like to. 3nodding

I'm not too sure, that might vary from con to con, Otakon has on their website that all-bought costumes are not allowed. That means paying someone else to make it, and putting together the costume out of items all bought from the store isn't allowed either.
I guess I should add that in someway....

And I've been back 5 pages and didn't find anything like this, so I assumed it wasn't done. Conventions isn't really that busy...

You can compete in a costume you made yourself with a commissioned wig. You can also compete if you had your prop/weapon made by someone.

How does it get stickied? Isn't it, like, a week of (on topic) discussion in the thread itself, without bumping?
