biglanky14 Goes Bye-Bye: A Farewell Haiku Contest!

Hey everyone!

As you all probably know by now from his journal post, our very own biglanky14 is leaving us to go pursue his dream career as a high school teacher! (No really, this is his dream career. Not kidding here!)

Since today is his last day, and since he'll be teaching English literature classes, we wanted to send him off in style with a fun haiku contest! It's been a while since we had a haiku contest, and we feel the medium is appropriate given his course subject matter. Besides, haiku's are pretty easy for everyone to create so the contest will be more accessible for all Gaians.

Anyway, if you want to send our own biglanky14 off in haiku style, then feel free to join the contest! Not only will your entry serve as an awesome literary farewell for biglanky14, you could score some awesome items and/or a nice chunk of Gaia gold.

Welcome to the 'biglanky14 Goes Bye-Bye" haiku contest where you can submit a haiku poem that expresses your feelings about biglanky14 in three short lines! Put together a biglanky14-themed haiku (a haiku is a 3 line poem in which the first line has 5 syllables, the second line has 7 syllables, and the third line has 5 syllables) and you could win some serious gold!

Love biglanky14 or loathe him, you know you feel something for him, so put it down into prose! You could write a funny haiku or a serious one; express your love of biglanky14 or discuss what he's done that raises your ire - anything biglanky14 related is ok! Just make sure your language is “Gaia appropriate” – this means no curse words in the poems. We hate to quash your creativity, but we do have some younger Gaians of which we need to be mindful. Pick a different word that rhymes with “duck”, ok?...

The only real rules to this contest are that your haiku has to be related to your experiences of/with biglanky14 and your entries must follow the standard haiku format in which the first line of the poem has 5 syllables, the second line has 7 syllables, and the third line has 5 syllables!

And in keeping with the spirit of the haiku poem format, this contest will have:
* 5 first prize winners who will each get a cool 500,000 gold and biglanky14 SD Plus doll!
* 7 second prize winners who will each receive a nifty 200,000 and a biglanky14 SD Plus doll!
* 5 third prize winners who will each walk away with a nifty 50,000 gold and a biglanky14 SD Plus doll!

Not bad prizes for arranging 17 syllables about biglanky14, are they?!

Finally, you may enter more than once if you like, so post your best biglanky14 inspired haikus in this thread by 11:59 PM PT on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 for a chance to win! Please only post one haiku entry in a post as this will make it easier for us to go through the entries!

Winners will be randomly selected by members of the Admin team for their creativity and content, and the winners' usernames will posted in this thread by Friday, September 14, 2012.
