Xubuntu - Upgrade GIMP from 2.6 to 2.8?

Hiya~ GIMP that came with Xubuntu is outdated; I tried uninstalling and installing the newest one, but it always takes me to the 2.6. Any ideas? and Yes, I tried google. Google isn't my best friend right now. sweatdrop

I did this in the terminal and this is what it says:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp -y

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install gimp -y

Do you know when there will be a fix for the chrome issue? Firefox won't let me access Tumblr for some strange reason. Unless you have another browser in mind that is similar to the two? surprised

As soon as Oracle gets off their butts and fixes java.

I uninstalled Chrome. and Installed Opera. Firefox was good, but I couldn't go on tumblr on firefox.
My boyfriend is using Chrome and he says he's not had problems. Does it only affect Linux users?
