I jut rebooted my laptop with the official recovery discs of the company, so there shouldn't be any problems, right?
Well, when I enter into my account, Vista doesnt fully load all of the programs, and it freezes completely. The only way I can use my laptop is to restart it.

I had a Trojan infection once, and I dont know if it left something behind that is still causing this freeze. An photo of the problem:

Well if you already erased all your data, might as well try the restoration again (whule plugged into the wall, not on battery power).

Well, I did exactly that. I'm just curious WHY this keeps happening.

It happens alot with my vista too. Especially after i've down loaded something..I never though much of it though. I just do what you do..After I deleted some crap on my comp that wasn't needed, it stopped freezing. Try cleaning your comp up a bit...

Without having the computer to inspect, we can't really say.

I had this problem once try updating you video driver to the newest available, we bought a dell computer and its drivers were not compatible with each other lol, their generic drivers clashed with the nvidia drivers, probably a driver problem in any case, check your error logs using administrative tools and see whats causing the problem, if you cant figure it out boot into safe mode and run malewarebites antimalware, great free program.

I just got a new hard drive in my Toshiba that had this problem. Are you able to use the cursor? Can you restart your computer at all? (mine couldn't restart without me pressing the power button) , granted this wasn't the only problem I had. Do you have any blue screen errors at all? Do you hear any clicking ?

I'd suggest, if you call the company and they tell you to reformat (not reboot, that's restarting your computer by letting it go off then back on...reformat=remove and replace the OS) , BACK UP ALL DATA, AND TRY AGAIN! If that fails, call them back, and they can try to help you from there.

Hmm I'm not sure what to suggest. Well what I would do if I seen that for the first time is go to task manager (ctrl+alt+dlt or ctrl+shift+esc) and check your explorer.exe file. If the memory usage is exceedingly high, it could just be a lot of lag caused by some programs. If so, I would check for any running programs that would be using a great deal of memory (firefox is a major sapper). If you end all processes that seem to be slowing up your com, then I would suspect some sort of virus/malware. At that point, I would try disconnecting from the internet and going about your business as you normally would. If the problem doesn't come up while disconnected, assume that it is a virus/malware.

Not to crash your parade but Reboot is the same as reformat and there's a word for restart, restart/turn off/on. Reboot means to erase previous actions and start anew.

reboot means to turn off and turn on, not to restore. Learn your terminology before preaching to the regulars.

You are on the right track but when you open task manager, (just right click the task bar at the bottom of the screen) and open the task manager, click on the process tab and close out programs that you are sure you don't use on a daily basis. Don't worry, files that you have closed can be reopened if you click on (File-located top left of task manager) and type the name of the program you had executed. After closing some programs you might have closed out the program that caused your laptop to act like this. If this still doesn't work, try closing one program at a time. If this is still not working click Start->Type in search-> RUN open RUN and type in the dialog box, msconfig. Click on the "Start-up" tab and start checking off programs you know you don't use often and can be opened from a short-cut. example given (i.g.) let's say you have AIM, and you usually have that start up when you turn on your computer, if you check OFF AIM on Start Up then the next time you turn on your laptop AIM won't load up automatically and this is why because you can easily access AIM from clicking the short-cut on your desktop. And I advisedly hope you've did this is to reboot your laptop. If it's still not working... Bash on keyboards and scream at the top of your lungs. ROFL just kidding, yes contact the company and see fi they can either exchange your laptop for a new one or fix.

Hope I helped some. =S

QFT. Boot Sequence: The initial set of operations that the computer performs when power is switched on. Re: "back" or "again". Thus reboot=turn on again.

I preach cause I know I'm right, learn how to "google" then come talk to me. =) Give me a thumbs up if I've taught you something today. Good day boy.
