Windows 7 worth it?? I'm a computer geek(but athletic) and I need to know if I should get it!

It's a vast change from XP, but not as big of a change from Vista.
If you have XP and you're getting a new computer, hell yes. If you have vista and you're getting a new computer, it'll be fine. If you have vista and you're thinking about upgrading to 7, check out what's new in it to see if it appeals to you personally or not. |

well it is better that vista in speed but there is not many support for it on application yet so if you have any network adapters or the likes i recomend you to wait

Personally, I dual-boot Windows XP and Kubuntu 9.10. There is nothing Windows 7 can do that I can't with this setup. So to answer your question, I don't think so.

It's usually crap preinstalled software included along with it. |

I triple boot Windows XP, Windows 7, and Ubuntu 9.04. Windows 7 is really fast, and it is better than vista. It runs at about 512MB of 2048MB of memory I have. mrgreen

It is amazingly better than Vista. It's faster, takes less RAM, has less errors, supports all of my drivers, etc. Also, I love the new taskbar. 3nodding

Vista and 7 are different in only boot times and the way they handle ram, on the surface.

All the actual benchmarks I've seen show the three most recent versions of windows run programs at almost the same speed.
