Probably just transfer files onto external HDD or burn it to DVD. Not only it can help with transfer to your new Windows 7, but also it can be used as back-up.

But Windows 7 was created considering Vista's faults and complaints from its users. Thus some of Vista's cons (excessive usage of memory *cough*) aren't in Windows 7 anymore.

I have stopped reporting until the ED is better handled..

Bootygrab, anyone?

Well, my installation of 7 was a semi-upgrade. As I said, I just kinda installed over Vista on my system hard drive and still had all of my programs and files on my second hard drive.

Some of the stuff had to be reinstalled or reactivated (like iTunes and a few of my games), but other stuff seemed to continue working without any problems (like Guild Wars, lol).

Overall, 7 does seem to work better. I've seen less bugs and have had no major program crashes that I've noticed.

Too bad my printer is no longer supported, though. Grrr.

Wouldn't it be simpler to install Windows 7 so your computer has both Vista and 7 on it? (Before you ask, yes, it's possible.)

I last wrote my signature when I was twelve. Looking back, I can't really say I was being sane at the time.

I know, I could have done that. I just don't have any desire to keep Vista on my laptop when I can use the less buggy and more flexible 7 instead. ^^

I think Windows Vista is to Windows 7 as Windows ME was to Windows 2000/XP back in the day.

Although ME worked better than Vista as far as resource management goes IMO. lol

You must clean install!
