Which ipod should i get?

Well the media has convinced me to get an ipod. Im alweys seing then on tv and on movies well now im getting one. Im going to get a 40 GB one. But i dont know whats the diffrance between the Apple Ipod and the HP Ipod. Can anyone help me out?

from no other research, all i know is HP ipod has more customizable skins... dunno about the ipod itself.

!!!!!!!dont even get an ipod, more almost the same price u can get an rca lyra which has the same amount of space but its an mp4 player so u can play jpegs mp3's and video files and its still the same size a much better deal believe u me, well almost the same size depends wat ipod u get but they all suck, compared to an mp4 player

All the HP ipod is, is an ipod with HP laser eched into the back. Besides that they are exactly the same. I would suggest just getting the regular iPod.

IPods don't suck.
From what I can tell, the only difference from the IPod and the HP IPod would seem to be with how it interfaces with Windows. Mine works fine.
But the mp4 player does sound like a better deal. smile

Heres a suggestion... If you want to watch video on something this small and hurt your eyes.. go ahead ^_^ If you reallly want to get one like this. you could wait for the PSP by sony and play games, watch movies, play music, and have wireless internet. neutral But then its all depends on what your willing to do.

The PSP will be much cheaper than the RCA Lyra tho smile Apple Ipods has there advantages over the RCA, and vice versa. But its all user preference.

Ok but im a big time music pirate, with over 5000 pirated mp3's. Will the ipod play them? they are .mp3 and some are .avi or something like that

^_^ Going for the well rounded devices that can go everything is not always good idea. Esp for 400 dollars that is pretty faulty and buggy still... I rather not buy it until the next or next next generation of this type. ^-^

The color ipods can view pictures and has hardly *if any* lag time loading the pictures. smile I haven't seen an ipod crash before, but everything can crash... just you would need to take the extra mile to make one crash. ^_^

the point of the ipod is an mp3 player, main purpose, and if you use it with the apple itunes program its more powerful... Itune is a user friendly program, but also is very powerful if you know how to use it. not sure about .avi

I dont have an ipod ^_^ I stick with my Sony Clie because im a lazy person who is stingy when comming to buying stuff smile

as long as you don't spend your money on an ipod mini. it's only 4 gigs, and for just $50 bucks more you can get the 20 gig ipod. if you're going to spend the money, you might as well get more bang for your buck, right?
