Unfortunately, Gateway had a tablet-PC (what they are called) but they have disconnected it.

I myself have one of the tablet-PC's and have been very happy with it.

My best bet is to search Google: Tablet PC's

It will show you a whole bunch of companys that sell touch-screen computers. smile

Wacom would be one of the leading names in tablets. They are widely available and have an excellent reputation.

They have an entire line of products, ranging from the smaller/cheaper models for beginners to high end tablet displays that cost a couple thousand dollars.

Hmm, thanks Bolweevil! I never thought of them!

I'm not sure about a tablet pc, I hear a lot of them don't have touch sensitivity, which is apparently a must for artists.

I've heard a lot about Wacom as well, usually positive n_n

Usually, tablet-PC's have a pen that you use to touch the screen.

You do not usually touch with your finger. wink

How much can he afford? There are tablets that probably go into the thousands. Give us a price limit.

How big does it need to be?

Wacom are generally very good though.

This image is not porn or warez, it was a drawing of a spider.

Like on nice drawing... pens? Whatever people use... (not an artist) pressing harder gives you thicker lines.
On nice art tablets I think it does similar stuff. Probably also lighter/darker based on pressure.
But I think many tablet PCs don't really do that as much.

It all depends on my dad. What is the cheapest in the Wacom Series? Are there any older models?

That one's $99, and there are others in the series.
