Well of course ads will turn people away. But you also need to advertise the site more. Make it unique.

Looks good to me. I'd say your problem is just advertising, or maybe there are already enough sites like yours out there that any new ones are just being overlooked.

Layout looks good. Content is clear. I'd say the only problem is probably the annoying "coming soon" pages, which would be explained by the fact that you're working on a new layout, nee?

The first page works, but the link on the portal page does not. You need to add a slash in the link, like this...
from:

http://synnite.com/synnite

to:

http://synnite.com/synnite/

The page was not being displayed with the current link

It's okay. My main complaint is that it's a little too busy. The background mainly. Try to find a background that will complement the foreground colours, and one that is not so busy.
