devils I know
Okay, this is a problem I've had for a while, but recently it's been more frequent.
Every once in a while my sound gets sped up. It effects every program I use, anything that makes sounds. I thought it was my crappy speakers, but I've since bought new ones (also not great, but have good enough sound for me).
The only way I fix it at the moment is to restart my computer. This usually fixes it for several days to weeks.
I can't figure out what exactly is happening or why or how to fix it on a permanent basis.
For the record, I do not normally shut down my computer.
I do not usually use my computer to play music or other media.
I usually have at least AOL going, very often Firefox as well. My only performance issues are with the sound.
So... Any thoughts? Anything I could try to fix it at least without restarting?
Big question:
1. Onboard sound card? Big boo boo
2. PCI sound card? Lesser boo boo
If #2 you may have a buffer issue. IT CAN BE RESOLVED. Or the card is dead.
#1 leads us to a bigger MOBO issue....
