So I've been thinking about downloading Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 since I've really been getting into movie making. ( If that's what you call it, I usually design AMVs using footage from games...xD; ) I've been to a website that has it for free, and I'm pretty sure it's safe since I download a lot of things very similiar to it, and so far, it's been fine for me. But just in case, I'd like to know if it really is safe or not.

Lately, I've been using Window Movie Maker on Windows Vista Home Premium, and I know pretty much everything there is to know about it. Effects, transitions, overlapping, audio, video-cutting, and everything in between. I want to step it up a notch with something a little more complicated, but gives me the opportunity to do more options with.

I've really wanted to have my footage be filmed backwards- which can't be done with Windows Movie Maker. ( I've tried, and looked it up...impossible. ) I know with SVP, it can be done. The problem is, I'm afraid that if I download it, it will cause my computer to be overfilled with too much stuff, and will have to be deleted. I'm thinking about removing WWM from my computer, and replacing it with a new, more mature software. I think the best bet would be to download SVP first, test it out, and if I feel that it's suitable, I'll delete WMM. Not sure. Those of you who have SVP: Is it worth it? Or do you keep both SVP and WMM?

I'd love for you to give me as much information or tips as you can for SVP, and tell me what's different between the two. Your info is greatly appreciated! c:

I haven't used SVP, however, I can recommend Adobe Premiere; bundled with Aftereffects, it is incredible 3nodding , so that may be worth looking at

@Allariele- Thanks! I'll take a look at it. Does it require the same skills and same tools as WMM? That's what I'm looking for...
Oh, and will it take up a lot of space on my computer? I have to make sure I don't mess up by deleting something I need. D:

I haven't used WMM much, but it definately is a lot more advanced and you will need to learn the new features, I am sure Vegas is the same; both are professional level software.

As for storage requirements, the CS4 version is 691MB on my computer.

Sony Vegas Pro is not free, neither is Adobe Premiere. The site you found it on for free was likely supplying you with a pirated copy, which is illegal.

Unless you are referring to a trial download, but that doesn't sound like what you were referring to.

Any admissions of illegal activity or intent may get you in trouble on Gaia.

If you would like to use a program, you must purchase it. If you have no intention of purchasing the application, find an alternative. We will not help you use a program you intend to steal.

I sort of new it was going to be like that. Not entirely safe, I mean. That's why I decided to post a forum about it first. I like to be sure.

Also, I want it to reach at least 2 pages to discuss the features of Sony Vegas Pro. Just so I understand it's uses better.

Since it's not free, I won't download it. Guess I'll still get some more practice time with WWM.
