I'm planning on learning how to work SolidWorks this summer as a form of 3d drafting and I learned that it doesn't download to Apple. I have a few different options available to me, right now my best guess for working it will be a Windows 8 laptop that is soon getting downgraded to Windows 7 or a laptop that I will be borrowing, I'm unsure of what they are but I know one's HP and the other is Dell. Would the Windows 7 be my best bet for usage?
Windows 8 + Classic Shell should work fine, which a slight modification of start-up services to prevent superfetch from using 99% of your disk usage. If you would rather use Windows 7 though by all means. I use it personally. Also, if you have an Apple computer you should be able to lean a Windows OS from bootcamp or virtual machine.
