So I have an issue with my Notebook.

I'm not sure why this has happened; but when I put headphones into the the netbook; the sound is all distorted, quiet and only goes to one ear..

I used to have to turn or "calibrate" it to get the proper sound but now it isn't working any more, no matter how much I turn the headphones while they're inside the jack.

Is it a fixable problem or is like the jack worn-out?
As I said it worked fine before but now it just refuses to..

They work fine in my phone and on my actual PC so I don't think so gonk
