what type of server would you recomend for me if i wanted to open a big website. but the trick here is that it cant have more than 4 digits.
Most servers don't have any fingers, so I think you're safe in that respect.

What, kind of content, exactly, are you planning on serving on this machine?

you can use ur current operating systems and use appache, you dont need a separate server.

it may be hard to webhost if you have a dynamic ip address, but it can be done.

Or if you've got a spare older machine, you can use that. I use a dual-processor Pentium III @ 550MHz for a file/web/e-mail/database/whatever server, and it works wonderfully for what I need.

but cant that lag down my computers speed or will it be enough for me tell a difference
