Serious virus help D:

Just ignore most of this. Check the bottom part(s). Leaving the short expl. up, though.


Short explanation:

I was on computer. Pop up came up. Said I needed antivirus..blah blah blah.. I now have these programs constantly popping up on my comp all about antiviruses:

-Windows System Defender

-Antivirus System Pro

-Spyware Alert

-Windows System Alert (appears in those pop up speech-like bubbles in the lower right)

-Random popping ups of: Adult.com, Porno.org, and Viagra.com. note I don't watch porn o.O

-(the most irritating one..) Nameless program. Consistantly says programs I open are infected and "cannot" execute because theyre infected. Then closes it out.

-Pig squealing pop up stating I have a 'harmful virus' in my computer. Causes a pig squealing audio clip or something. Scared me.. at first.

- Box saying I have a trojan. 4/5 risk.

-Post virus scan results of some random 'anti virus' program. always says i have 39 trojans/critical viruses.

Soo..would anyone know what to do? Other than taking it into shop or like..flushing my system?

The only problem I have is that my computer won't..connect to the internet in safe mode. Lord knows why. Should I just..continue anyway and download it only in normal mode? Or would you know? (not insulting your intelligence in anyway if you think i am or something : P)

Safe mode? Gaia's never given anyone a virus.

I'm not sure you really get what safe mode is? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe_mode
Besides, while Gaia may not give you viruses, there is always a possibility for a malicious ad they haven't weeded out yet to get you.

Ok..I got the files in my download queue on Firefox.. in safe mode.. By files I mean the ones in the sticky. Chose Avira antivirus and SUPERantispyware. avira will go through all the installing and end at the end of the installation. Just..vanishes. in both modes. The other won't install in safe mode and the pop ups restrict it.

So I'm basically screwed now? Since the one virus won't let me download things and my antivirus (trend micro) doesn't detect anything(assumption)? Well not screwed just forced to wipe my hard drive/send it to a computer technician?

You must be skipping parts of the sticky.
The sticky doesn't just tell you to go get extra scanners and run them, it has some other stuff too.
Some of which will require you to post logs, so the regs will know whether or not you've done it.
Go read it again, specifically the post about what order to do it in.

Newer infections will close scanners, I recommend running a livecd antivirus.

I had this problem. I think I had the same one as you.
I read through my instruction manual for my Laptop and found that I could reboot it to an earlier time that my Laptop had updated itself. I did this, and that fake anitivrus thing was just... gone!
Check through your computers instruction manual. If it tells you how to revert it to an earlier time, do it. It will save your life.

I had this problem. I think I had the same one as you.

Check through your computers instruction manual. If it tells you how to revert it to an earlier time, do it. It will save your life.

If you use Windows Vista, do this:
-Press F8 until you get a 'System Recover Options' screen thing come up.
-Click System Restore to choose an earlier point in time to revert your comp back to.
-Once this is done, your comp will, revert to a state before you downloaded the fake antivir thing. You must pick a date on the screen, though, that was before you downloaded the fake antivir, then it shall go. You may have to use Safe Mode with Networking for a while so your comp can get used to the reverting, or it might work straight away. After I done this my Laptop wanted to freeze up for a few days, then it started to work.
