JPEG quality in Paint is absolutely horrid.
Paint is about the only graphic application I can think of that doesn't allow you to customize compression levels when saving to JPEG format.
If I could suggest anything, I'd probably point you at Irfanview's website. Google it if you're interested.
Irfanview isn't that type of editor though..
You can make some changes and convert existing images, but not create new ones from the clipboard. At least not last time I used it.
Sure you can. You just need to paste the clipboard image. I've been using Irfanview for the past five years or so, and I've never used any version that disallowed pasting from the clipboard.
Besides, even if you're right, saving as BMP from paint and converting to JPG with Irfanview would still render much cleaner, less artifacted results than saving as JPG from paint alone.
