So the long and short of my problem is that my laptop likes to overheat if I'm drawing in Photoshop especially if I'm doing other heavy workload things, and sometimes that corrupts the file I'm working on. Is there anything I can do to repair the files? I've found the Windows 'restore previous versions' tool, but frequently it's been several days (and therefore 10+ hours worth of work at times) since the most recent usable file...

i'm not sure what you could use for corrupt files but if this is an ongoing issue you might want to invest in a can of compressed air and clean out the air vents.
