Welcome to Gaia! ::

I'm running on Vista. When I play a video, I could hear the sound but not the image. I tried uninstall it and reinstall, but it doesn't work.
Most likely quicktime doesn't have the proper video decoder, but let's check first.

Run that and open the video file with it, screenshot the results when it's done analyzing.
Does it play properly in Windows Media Player?
You can right-click the file and choose "open with" to do that.
Yes... but I need Quick Time to do something with Photoshop.
Well, your best bet would be to convert the video to a format that quicktime understands.

Download and install SUPER, it's free.
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/super.cfm

Open it (it can take a while because of how complex the options are), then while it's open, drag whatever file(2) you want to convert into SUPER. That's right, drag the files into the open SUPER program.

Then look at the top-left, and set the Output Video Container to MOV.

Right-click SUPER and choose "Output File Saving Management (it's near the middle). There you can choose where to save the converted version of the files.

Finally click "Encode (Active Files)" in the bottom-left to start the converting. Then you should end up with a converted copy in the folder you chose.
