problem CD drive

im not sure what is up with my cd drive it jus doesnt seem to realise that is even connected to the pc i was fiddling about with some wires but im positive i put everything back how it was any one with any advice

It's connected up properly definitely? And is it being recognised in the BIOS?

Make sure every cable is properly seated and oriented properly. Also make sure the jumper is set according to your configuration.

I'm sure it's just a slight misconfiguration. Keep playing with it, you should get it back to the way it was. By the way, since you're already in there, check to see if you're running it as a slave to another cd drive. This can cause problems sometimes. It's better to run it as a slave to your hd.

The same thing has just happned to me. Your drive is offline meaning it somehow has been disconnected. Take it to best buy ts a small problems only took 4 minutes to fix. So I suggest you do if you try it your self worse will happen.
