My moniter, starting today, was rippling. The screen picture kept looking like it had a lumpy wave under it...it's kind of hard to describe. So everytime it happens, I get a weird beep sound. It only happens time to time, and my dad says it's due to the motherboard. I'd like to get second opinions, please? heart
Magnetic interference. If there are any speakers, telephones, or other sound emitting devices, move them away from your monitor.
yes things like Phones and other magnetically charged items could do this, like I had my cell phone sitting on my desk by my monitor and everytime I would start getting a message or call my monitor would do the same thing.

Also it wouldnt be because your motherboard it would be the video card which is responsible for sending out signals from the motherboard to the monitor to have it work correcly. So No it wouldnt be the motherboard.
