Loop problem?

Everything I say in my mic comes out in speakers. A friend said I had to uncheck a loop setting in my audio setup, but I don't see one. Anybody know how to fix this so I don't hear myself when I talk to friend, but I still hear them?

Open the Playback Mixer (Volume control) and check the mute box under Mic. You can leave the mic Select box in Record Mixer selected and your voice chat etc. still works.

What you say into the mic is supposed to come out through the speakers. You can always mute them or turn them off. I always use my headset when I use a mic to avoid echos and feedback.
