I don't care much for weigh, size, touchpad features or anything like that, just performance and reliability, and with slightly above average graphics, at least better than what you would normally get for $500 because that's all I can spend. I'm not looking to play like BF3 or anything, maybe like MW2 on low since my crappy computer right now can do MW1 on regular settings. Maybe games like LoL or WoW even tho I don't play those, just examples, GTA4.

Neither

For $500 or under, what would you suggest?

Gaming on not-a-laptop.

Laptops are generally less powerful than desktops.

When ever I think of PC gaming, I think of maxing out the settings. Most laptops won't.

Build your own desktop.

You say that as if a $500 desktop rig could max out recent stuff.

Too true. GTA4 is a pretty intense game. Playing on low? Yeah, maybe... I wouldn't even attempt it.

You're not going to get a gaming anything for $500, much less a laptop which is more expensive than the same stuff in a desktop.

Dapper Phantom

Part of the problem could be the graphics cards on those, they say they're integrated...
If you can go up to $600, something like this might be better?

I'm biased towards Lenovos, but you may be able to get more laptop for less money if you're willing to buy refurbished.
My last two laptops were refurbished and I have no complaints :)

No s**t, I said that in my first post.

You don't seem to have understood it hence my repeating it. You are a very lucky person since I hate repetition unless it's a WHILE or FOR statement.
