Laptop Won't Run Certain Programs...

First things first.. I have a small laptop (netbook?) that runs on Windows 7 Starter (because I'm poor and can't get the full system yet.)

So a while back on my laptop I started experiencing this problem when I tried to run a program like SecondLife.

It had worked fine up until some random day and time and all of a sudden whenever I tried to run it, from Shortcut or File, The program wouldn't even come up. The "waiting" cursor would appear for a moment and then disappear and nothing be left to happen. When I finally looked at the programs that weren't working, there was this yellow and blue shield on them Like so:



Consequently I can't run my Procaster stare

So... What exactly is going on here..?

Please learn your grammar, don't degrade the forums too far.

The shield means that Windows will probably ask you every time, or at least the first time, if it's ok for that program to make modifications to your computer (I think).

Try uninstalling the program and reinstalling it. Assuming you saved your work, you won't lose any of it.

The shield is U.A.C., it is a built in security feature.

Though I find that opening statement quite offensive ._. I'm not a programmer, nor am I heavily into computer speech; therefore I rely on folks to assist me when it comes to my laptop is doing things beyond the norm.
