Welcome to Gaia! ::

Well.... here we are again. My laptop is messing up. I want to know why it takes so long for items to open up in my inventory.... whenever I click a item that has more than one pose, it takes a long time for it to finally pop up. And the little green loading bar at the bottom of the page stays with all the bars -- like... let's say it takes 10 bars to say it's finally loaded. Well, it would be 10 bars but it would sit there... I want my items to come quick whenever I click them.

Can someone help me please. :l
What Internet Browser are you using? (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, etc.)

A slower computer processor, or an older/outdated/lesser quality Internet browser will contribute to this. You can also try clearing your browser's cache, et cetera, but that will not make an excessively large difference.
You might also find it beneficial if you take down some 'fancier' looking applications, like using the old Windows XP toolbar, because it uses less RAM. Try taking down other installed files or applications that use a lot of RAM, (it might be a matter of you not having a good RAM, or a graphics card). Also, try using things that use less memory (yes memory, not hard drive.. if you have something that uses a lot of memory it requires your computer to do more work just to load that specific program).

Try using a simplistic background, and don't have any alternate cursors, toolbar skins, web skins, etc.. for these also cause your computer to run a bit slower.

If NONE of this seems to be helping, try and contact tech support from best buy or some store like that.... or I might be able to identify the programs that are eating away at your computer speed; if you message me a list of all the things you have on your computer.

P.S. Listening to music on your computer (actually bringing up a playlist, or a website) KILLS how fast your computer loads things.
Hm I see.
I'm on IE
oh and... I'm not sure how accurate I am on this but, adding on to Lady Nekochan...

Internet explorer (I believe) was made, and still is mainly for only web browsing, and really shouldn't be associated with any flash animated things or anything that has pages upon pages of graphics (such as gaia). It's kind of like the default windows 'note pad' program... nothing fancy about it... used for your basic things, again like web browsing. (Not sure how accurate that is)

Mozilla Firefox has continuous updates to help contribute to your web browsing and makes it easier to load sites and pages with more advanced things than just forum searching and web browsing, (hence why most schools don't have Firefox, and end up using IE as their default and only web browser). Since Firefox runs (I believe to be) weekly updates, they look more at flash player, and more graphical things. They also have a better connection to the Adobe software than IE, (I don't think IE has any connection to Adobe... I may be wrong though) and since most websites use one or more of Adobe's programs, it makes Firefox a better; faster applicant for this.
... not true at all.

Absolutely none of that made sense, nor is it correct.
If you don't know what you're talking about, don't make s**t up; and if you heard all this crap from someone else, pass along the message.

You really didn't give us much information.
How long does it take the page to load?
Which web browser are you using?
*IF* you already have another browser installed, does it happen in both browsers?
Do you have any other browser windows or tabs open?
Is anyone else in your home using your internet connection?
Are you using your own wireless signal, or are you siphoning it from a neighbor?
