Issues playing videos

Hi, I was hoping someone might know how to cure a video play problem for me. I am only running about 350 Pentium 2, and Divx needs 450. When I run a video that is around 20 minutes and of a high quality it will play the audio, but not the visual, or there is a 10 second delay.

I was wondering if a more powerful video card would clear that up or if I would have to get a new processor. I'd really much rather get the video card, but I wanted some opinions first.

Grr, I was hoping I wouldn't have to upgrade the processor. That's one of those complexly placed things in my computer.
