Welcome to Gaia! ::

biggrin i might get windows seven and i want to see if it is good
Why not read any of the 20 other threads on the page about it before making a new one?
Simply yes if you have been stuck on windows vista its great, if you have been stuck on xp then its good, minor problems but so far from my experience its great.

i was going to say the same thing...

XP is good, if you already have it, why change a perfectly good one ?? but, if you are already having a Vista, then this change is a must (kinda), cause Windows 7 is much more stabilize than Vista

System.out.print("

Really now? My Vista hasn't crashed once since I got it. Fancy that.

@OP: If you can get an upgrade cheap (good deals for college students!) go for it.
Otherwise, unless you have any pressing issues to upgrade, you should probably stick with what the system came with.
Computers will start coming with 7 pre-installed at some point.

Yeah, windows 7, although only a vista upgrade, is a major improvement, it runs alot faster than vista and they've solved most of the problems ^.^
Nice! This thread was helpful, I think I will get Windows 7... but it's just too damn expensive!

Well, Windows 7 Ultimate runs excellent on my netbook and my Pentium Dual Core laptop with aero enabled and everything.
Its worth the money in my opinion.
well, as long as we're going to keep necroing a done topic. I think it sucks. I installed it one night and found myself back on XP by noon the next day.
"well if u left vista and xp in a dark room for long enough, u'd get w7. i uses less processers that xp and it look pretty 2... and my mates laptop that struggles with vista runs w7 perfectly."-cited SpeedDemon69
"it uses half the ram of vista
it idles at 0&#xcp;u unlike vista (69% on vista 1.7ghz p4)
still is a pain to use if your an advanced user (cant easily modify system files and folders)
still fairly heavy on the resources but generally a good os if your the typical pc end-user (a real *censored*)"-cited googlproxer

Simply put, if you like vista but don't like the RAM sappage, go to Win 7.
mahi poi no ka oi

fresh installs always work better.

It uses it differently.

Any why would you constantly need to modify system files?

This is the way I'm going to put it, simplest as possible: If you are currently an XP user, and have no experience with Vista , I'd recommend trying Vista first, because if you know Vista, you know 7 razz .

If you have "bad" experiences with Vista, don't get 7.

If you have good experiences with Vista , either keep it (or upgrade if you don't use it) , OR get 7 if you feel you would like it enough.
