Welcome to Gaia! ::

well a lovely person sent me a link to a program that saved my music after my last ipod problem (couldn't get my music from my ipod to my newly wiped pc)

now i have another issue which is more of an irritation than anything major.

the play/pause button presses by itself, even when the hold feature is on, so it shouldn't be able to do anything, much less stop/start by itself.
when i skip to a new track, it doesn't always start at the beginning of a song. sometimes its a few seconds, to halfway through or in some cases a few seconds from the end of the track. yet when i press rewind, it plays the full song just fine.

i've tried reinstalling itunes, and restoring factory settings, neither fixed it.
Have you checked the buttons? Sometimes the buttons get stuck if pressed too hard or too many times. Apart from that you may want to send it to Apple and they'll give the full works and it should be sent back working or you get a new one.

i've had it for nearly a year, won't they say its out of warranty or something?

Usually if it's the fault with the machine Apple are nice and try and do something about it. My friend dropped his in a beer glass and he sent it back out of warranty and got a new one.
I WANT THE ONE WITH THE VIDEO CAMERA SOO BADLY!!! scream I still listen to my fat 2007 iPod nano. It still works though. whee
just discovered it's not only my ipod doing the weird playback, itunes is doing it too. also it won't let me download the new itunes, it pops up an error saying it has an invalid signature.
the manual download suggestion doesn't work either.
any ideas?
DO THE FIVE Rs.

ok so i did the 5 r's thing, it finally let me dl the newest update for itunes. its still doing the dodgy playback though.
i'll be taking my ipod into the apple store when to go to meadowhall tomorrow, and i'll see what they say.
any suggestions in the meantime?
My iPod would sometimes do that as well...

Once you've got the new iTunes, try, when you plug your iPod in, doing the reset. You'll have to sync all your songs, but if you're using usb 2.0, that shouldn't be a problem (I know 2.0's been around for a while... I had been stuck with a really old computer for a really long time...)
