Welcome to Gaia! ::

OK. About two-three months ago my computer stopped working completely. My dad had to completely restart the computer. I lost all of my files, pictures, music, desktops. ECT. I lost everything. Anyway, I noticed that my I-tunes was gone, so I re-downloaded it.

Everytime I try and hook my Ipod up to my compuer, my I-pod says Connected, and the little battery thing has the charge icon. But my computer doesnt even know its there! I mean, no sync button appears, and no songs get transfered. There is no music on my computer( I just added like three yesterday), but I have about 400 songs on my I-pod now before my dad restarted the computer.

I downloaded the newest versions on Itunes, along with quicktime player and other stuuf. I am trying to figure out why my i-pod wont hook up properly. I am willing to erase all my songs if it helps and if all else fails, as long as I can get new songs and be able to sync, I am fine.

Can anyone help me? I have a 3rd generation i-pod nano. Silver to be exact. xD Can anyone help me? Thank you so much if you can! biggrin
restart means turning off and turning on. That should not make any files go away.

Did you try the five Rs?

okay i can help. my ipod did the same thing. there's a problem with the usb. mine would do the same yours does, it would plug in, the light would flash 3 times and then go out. you would have to go to the apple store, do u still have the warranty? anyways, they tested my usb on their computers and then it wouldn't show up there so i was given a new one because it wasn't working. it also had the warranty left for 2 more days. so i got it for free and you should go to the apple store. 3nodding

you mean he reformatted the computer?
Probably USB troubles.
When you reformat your PC and you still have songs on your Ipod, Itunes won't transfer them to the library. Don't ask me why, they just.. don't. If you really want to, restore it to factory settings (clear it) and put new songs on it.

Have you tried a different port? Computers can be picky like that unfortunately. xp
Try a diffirent usb port or check to see if ur Ipod is formatted to ur computer if not then go into itunes and hit the button restore and it will format it for u...... good luck!!!!
