ok so i want to buy a comp to buy games (perferably a desktop) becasue right now im playing on a laptop that barely supports WoW, so i was wondering if any one could suggest a good computer for me that plays games such as WoW, halo2, and other games like that.

Hmmm.... I'm not sure.... find one with good RAM and Space with good GHz, there are some computers on Ebay you could look at, if your not comfortable with a computer with Vista.

Single most important question - how much were you looking to spend.

if you can resize your active drive while using it
I'll boil your hard drive and have it with a side of fries

System requirements for Halo 2 for Vista:
CPU: 2 GHz or better
RAM: 1 GB or better
HDD: 7 GB (The dedicated Server and the map editor require more space)
Video Card: Ati x700 or NVidia 6100 with at least 128MB Ram, Pixel Shader 2.0 and a "Windows Experience Index scores" ("Graphics" and "Video Game Graphics" wink of 3 or higher.

I bet you cannot find a new computer that DOESN'T fit these specs nowadays (Asside from Apples. I don't know what they put in there and i don't want to.)

Personaly i say take a medium prices CPU (AMD used to be cheaper for the same speed), a NVidia GeForce 8600 or 9600 with 256 MB Video Ram or a comparable ATI card, 2GB Ram, this should run most games.

apples have stuff just as good, but the reason why they generally have lower processor power (down around 1.8-2.2ghz) is cause they are able to use their resources alot better then windows. my mums old apple laptop had 256mbs of ram, and a 1.4?ghz processor and was able to outdo my toshiba laptop with 2.4ghz processor and 512mb of ram. but seeing as ya wanting to stick with pc(dont blame ya, more compatability and upgradability) get a 3.2ghz dual core(that way you dont need to upgrade in the next few years), 2gig of ram, 150-250 gig hdd, and atleast a 256mb nvidia or ati card as that way you dont need to upgrade too badly in the next few years.

Thats the UNIX in OSX (hence why the X and not 10). It is more efficient, but if you end up running all of your games in a virtual computer, you're losing all of that. And even with another bootable OS (via BootCamp) you'll take the hit from the lower clock speed.

Mac's are the best for gaming. They'll work, especially if you like Mac, are familiar with the OS and enjoy it's other advantages. If you want the best, go for something thats built for Vista.

I could help you build one or if you have friends that know how I'd suggest building over buying a premade.
