Turn it off, remove the battery, walk away for a couple of days.

Do not try to turn it on every so often to see if it still works. This is how you will break it, assuming it's not already broken.

Water and electricity do not mix, so when you use it while it is still wet, even slightly wet on the inside, you risk causing a short, and doing permanent damage. The more you use it while it's wet, the greater the chances are that it will short.

If you turn it off remove all sources of power and let it dry completely, it may be fine, assuming the damage hasn't already been done.

You can search the web for methods of trying wet electronics. The key us be patient and resist the urge to see if it works before it's dry.

Thank you!

After removing the battery, put the phone in a jar of rice, it will absorb the water.

Nope. Even if it dries they're going to have one sticky phone...

Short answer: No.

Long answer: I don't like making fun of people with mental handicap, so I won't. You may want to look into gaining disability payments and hiring a helper to make these kind of decisions for you.

If it still works try turning it on but if it doesn't then you could always do what the one person suggested by putting it in rice.
