How do you livestream?

I'm an artist, and I recently got a drawing tablet. I would love to show my friends my drawing process, chat over a livestream, and just all-around be merry.
But Livestream requires you to have a paid subscription in order to chat, Twitch is for gaming, and Xsplit requires that you use another streaming program. What other programs could I use? Am I missing some information somehow?
