How do you convert Movie files to MP4 Files?

Well, I recently got me a PSP, and was wondering, how do you change a movie file to an MP4 so I can transfer my copy of Terminator (Yes I own it) onto my memory card and watch it?

Not sure how to do it, I was thinking movie maker, but it didnt give me the option. =o

So any tips would be great.

Use a converter program that has a preset for the PSP, since there's a LOT more to a video file than the extension, not any MP4 type will work.

WinFF is a free converter.
