...Alright here's whats up. I have and older desktop running on windows 98 and its working fine. I also own a newer HP laptop running on vista, also just fine. I received a used wireless router that I know works because It was hooked up just yesterday and I moved it to clean, now I cant seem to connect Through the router and get it to connect any more. I have highspeed cable internet and All connections are as follows. Internet co-ax cable>back of LAN Modem // Ethernet cable from Modem>Router:Internet port // Router: Slot 1> Desktop Ethernet port. This is how A diagram I drew of the cables before I unplugged it showed as well. when I connect every thing up I go through the process of starting an internet connection through the "Wizard" thing. and it asks to connect immediately and I say yes and error loading page. And when I log onto my laptop, my laptop recognizes my router. it says linksys un secured network and the connection is at full bars, says its connected but yet again it has an error loading the page. on both computers and I believe its hooked up right....and I did try unplugging both the modem and router for 10-20 sec and for 10-20 min so no avail there. and well I hooked the internet directly to my laptop and...well here I am. I'm hoping maybe someone might know if I have the connections in properly or. maybe its a setting in my desktop that is not set for it to receive a signal through the router. I'm not sure. I'm somewhat computer literate. and am unable to get any help from the MFG. please help for the greater good of computers!...^^:
