My laptops screen recently died and I was forced to hook it up an old Gateway monitor. The problem is that when I go to play videos with any media player, the monitor jumps it up to full screen and it's almost impossible to exit out.

Along with that I am not able to use any of the media players options such as pause, stop, or fast forwarding.

Is this a settings problem... and can it be fixed and adjusted?

What OS do you have? Can you see the start menu on this other monitor?

If there isn't another day then I should just spend this one like it's the last

My laptop is a dell E1505 and I am using WIN XP... and I can't see the start menu once the video is running... everything else turns unresponsive.
